Engineer for Electric Components (OD 006)

Overview

We are looking for a capable Engineer (m/f) for Electric Components who will be responsible for cooperating with our customers in the field of development, design and application of electric machines, especially starters, alternators and/or motor generators as a part of our electronic engineering team located at our Engineering facility in South Germany. This is one of our strategic engineering centres and provides a range of capabilities including in-vehicle testing of air conditioners, climatic and acoustic chambers, component test benches and a state of the art wind-tunnel. This centre also specialises in prototype preparation and is the location of our European material testing laboratory and the home of our European Technical Research team.

 

Role/Responsibilities

You will be responsible for the development of design concepts for new electric machines in cooperation with our European customers. Additionally, you will verify electric machines by concept vehicles and pre-development vehicles. You conduct producibility and tolerance analysis and you will prepare FMEAs. By research activities and joining motor shows, conferences and/or symposiums you will detect technical trends in the field of electric machines. You will learn how to operate CAD and to issue CAD models, according to manufacturing requirements in cooperation with toolmakers and production. You will be responsible for the implementation of the companys design standards concerning the creation of models and drawings, taking customer requirements into consideration. A further task will be to handle the documentation and data storage according to our quality management system. Additionally, you will participate in design review meetings.

 

Requirements

You will typically have an engineering degree or an education as state certified technician. You will have experience in the automotive industry, ideally in the field of electrics. You have basic knowledge in CAD (preferably Catia V5). You will have good interpersonal skills and an analytic way of thinking as well as a good judgement ability. You like to work independently as well as in a team. You show creativity and resilience. You will have good IT skills (MS office).

 

Languages / Travel

You will work within an international and highly diverse and multi-cultural organisation on a day-to-day basis. A very good level of English and German ability is required. In this role you will be expected to undertake occasional business travel.
