Hardware Engineer for Power Electronics Modules - Automotive

Our client is one of the world's leading manufacturers of power modules and systems. Products are at the heart of modern energy efficient motor drives and industrial automation systems. Further application areas include renewable energies, energy storage, traction, power supplies as well as hybrid and electric utility vehicles.

 

Your tasks:

  • Responsible for the planning, implementation and documentation of the hardware design of new power electronics and / or improvements or changes to existing products in accordance with targets for cost, functionality, manufacturability and Timing
  • Designs and develops the power layout, design and material for mechanical parts
  • Implements and reviews all Hardware requirements related to the designed application
  • Evaluates and analyses the validation results of the application, defines Actions
  • Communicates with other Development Engineers and customers on technical issues
  • Creates tolerance calculations
  • Contributes to the feasibility study, specification and testing concept
  • Evaluates and analyses the validation results of the application, defines Actions
  • Performs special tasks in the area of expertise, such as creating and participating in FMEAs, definition of technical specifications, etc

 

Our requirements:

  • Degree in Materials Science, Mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or similar
  • Experience in similar engineering roles (ideally in power electronics, power modules development area)
  • Good understanding of power electronics performance as well as streamlining costs
  • Experience with electrical, thermal, and mechanical simulations
  • Capable to assess reliability of semiconductors power modules
  • Knowledge of joining technologies (soldering, welding, bonding)
  • Fluent in English language and German is a plus
