Mechanical Project Engineer (f/m)

This position is located in Leimen (near Heidelberg), Germany.

Your next challenge


  • Project and feasibility study:
  • Study and evaluate various technical solutions and scenarios
  • Calculate profitability of various investment scenarios with their related investment and operation costs (IRR, NPV, EVA)
  • Propose the best technical and economical solution
  • Project management:
  • Support brown- or greenfield plant investment project according to internal procedures
  • Support the project with responsibility in terms of plant design, quality, cost, time and performance
  • Support multinational project teams
  • Ensure an efficient project reporting system
  • Prepare bid documents and the technical specifications
  • Evaluate tenders and select suppliers together with the procurement department
  • Negotiate contracts, assisted by the legal department
  • Facilitate review of plant design
  • Follow up and coordinate suppliers and construction work
  • Assure achievement of the project safety requirements and targets
  • Conduct commissioning and performance tests
  • Watch technical developments and support technical design criteria and standards 

Your profile


  • Master degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 8 years professional experience in engineering companies engaged in heavy industries, building materials industry or similar
  • Understanding of contractual matters (negotiation and legal aspects)
  • Strong practical knowledge in mechanical engineering
  • Know-how and application of state of the art media and information technology
  • Experience in project management, problem solving and creativity, strategic thinking and decisiveness
  • Fluency in English, knowledge of other Eastern European languages being an advantage
  • Multicultural experience and understanding, especially in CIS Region, ideally Russia, Kazakhstan or Caucasus
  • Willingness to extensively travel abroad
